Services for Authors
Need a second set of eyes on your book manuscript, stage play or screenplay? I offer the following services for authors. Please note, I am from New Zealand, and therefore I am most proficient in New Zealand/UK English spelling.
Beta Reading
$100-$200 depending on project length - please get in touch for a quote.
Once you’ve finished your first draft, it can be helpful to get an objective perspective. I will read your project and provide a short report detailing the strengths and weaknesses. You are welcome to ask specific questions, or let me know areas you would like me to focus on.
Manuscript Assessment
$30/per hour - please get in touch for an estimate.
I will provide a detailed report outlining your project’s strengths and weaknesses. I will also provide on-page comments highlighting any plot issues, inconsistencies or errors. You are welcome to ask specific questions, or let me know areas you would like me to focus on.
Editing
$30/per hour - please get in touch for an estimate.
Full line and developmental editing. I offer a sample edit of the first 1000 words of your project. From this I can give you an estimate of how many hours I believe it will take me to edit the full project.
Special rates may apply for children and teenagers. Please contact me for more information.
Please note: I am not offering proofreading services at this time.
Sensitivity Reading
$25/per hour - please get in touch for an estimate.
I have lived experience of physical disability, chronic illness, neurodiversity (OCD) and mental distress. I use a mobility aid (walking stick or crutch) and I have experience of temporary ambulatory wheelchair use. I have a trained and registered assistance dog. My disability causes intermittent temporary blindness and hearing loss, though I do not have permanent vision or hearing loss.
I also have past work experience in the youth and mental health sectors
Please contact me if you would like more information about my experience in any of these areas.
If you are writing a book featuring characters with any of these experiences, and would like your work reviewed from a lived-experience perspective, please feel free to get in touch with a short description of the project and the characters you would like help with. If I don’t feel I’m the right person for you project, I may be able to put you in touch with someone who is.
Commissions
